New York Two-Day Gem Lab Class on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 October 2010
Gem-A, with over a hundred years' experience of gem education, is bringing its Gemmology Foundation Lab Class to New York - to the celebrated Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) where it will be presented by renowned gemologist and frequent MailTalk contributor Gary Roskin.
The two-day Gem Lab Class provides a perfect introduction to practical gemmology. It is ideal for all with a professional or personal interest in the subject, and also forms the necessary practical component for those studying, or considering studying, Gem-A's celebrated open distance learning Foundation in Gemmology. It is also an ideal refresher for those with some past gem education. The two days consist of hands-on practical instruction on gem identification using basic equipment. There are no prior requirements, other than an enthusiasm for, and an interest in, gemstones.
Gem-A Students are reminded to bring their full instrument kits, workbooks and stone sets with them; others are request to bring any hand-held instruments they have.

Las Vegas Two-Day Gem Lab Class, 2011 dates to be confirmed
Details of Lab Class: This intensive gemmology practical lab class is designed to help students prepare for their upcoming Diploma practical examination, as well as offer Gem-A members the ideal opportunity to refresh their practical skills, or for current Foundation students who maybe considering enrolling in the Diploma course and would like a 'taster'. GIA Graduate Gemmologists are also welcome. Advanced bookings are required as places are limited. Priority will be given to Gem-A students.
