All Gem-A members may join the Gem-A MailTalk information exchange. This is a email-based forum that will allow you to share comments and ideas with other members, ask or answer queries, and receive regular news from Gem-A.
To join you must be a member of Gem-A. Go to and fill in your email and name. Then click on JOIN GEM-A. The other options you can probably leave alone (unless you have experience of these things). However, you might wish to click on the box next to 'DIGEST (traditional)' - then you will receive a maximum of one email per day which will contain a compilation of all the emails send that day. The list provider will check with us to ensure you are eligible for membership when you first sign up.
Once you have joined you can send an email to the dedicated Gem-A forum email address and it will be circulated automatically to all other subscribers. Please note this is not for advertising purposes. Gem-A reserves the right to remove offenders from the list. If you wish to circulate information of events, conferences, etc please check with Gem-A first.
Past emails and News will be kept in the which you can search on-line
. You will need to be a registered user of Gem-A MailTalk to search the archives, and you will need to set up a password. This is easy to do and you will be asked to set one up the first time to try to access the archive.
The Gem-A MailTalk information exchange is managed by , a professional mailing list service run by the JISCmail team using the Listserv software supplied by
L-Soft. Every attempt will be made to keep the information exchange free of viruses and spam. However, nothing is the internet is 100% secure, so we do advise that you install virus protection software and keep it up-to-date.
