Also, please bring your own 10x lens and a torch if you have one. As always, unusual items are always welcome. Gem-A members and Current Students: £12.50. | Gwyn Green has taught gemmology since 1985. Over the years she has been a tutor and examiner for the Gemmological Association diploma and diamond courses and she designed and taught the HND gemmology course at Birmingham School of Jewellery. Gwyn has also found time for books, articles, talks and gemmological consultancy as well as chairmanship of the Midlands Branch. Gwyn will talk for about 45 minutes on 'The Identification of Colourless Stones in Jewellery'. Afterwards there will be a practical session examining mainly set stones. If possible, please bring a 10x loupe, cloth, pen torch or lamp. Microscopes will also be available. If you have any interesting examples of set stones, please bring them along. At The British Geological Survey, Murchison House, West Mains Road, Edinburgh, EH9.
The talk will start at 7.30 pm. Doors open from 7.00 pm. Members £4, Non-members £5. |

| The Gemmological Association of Great Britain would like to invite all of our members to take part in our Annual General Meeting, which will take place on Monday 30 June at the National Liberal Club in London. Please arrive at 5:45 for a 6:00pm start. The AGM will be followed by a presentation by our guest speaker, David Warren, Jewellery Department head of Christie’s London King Street and Dubai. He will be presenting a delightful talk titled ‘Surviving a Life Sentence at Christie’s’, where he will share thirty years of anecdotes and tales of working with the firm. |
